Data & Privacy

You fully own your data. Each user connects ThesisLog to their own Firebase/Firestore database project. AcadLabs does not host, view, or access patient data at any time. You maintain complete ownership and control.

No. AcadLabs does not have access to patient records. The application only verifies licensing credentials and may collect anonymous technical error logs for debugging purposes. Your patient data remains entirely within your own database.

Your data is stored in your personal Firebase/Firestore database, which provides:

  • Encrypted data at rest
  • Authentication and access controls
  • Regular automated backups
  • Enterprise-grade Google Cloud infrastructure

You are responsible for configuring security rules and maintaining compliance with your institutional requirements.

ThesisLog is a tool that connects to your own database. Compliance responsibility lies with how you configure and use your Firebase project. Firebase itself can be configured to be HIPAA compliant with proper Business Associate Agreement (BAA) setup. You must ensure your usage complies with all applicable regulations and institutional policies.

Technical

ThesisLog is a web-based tool and requires internet access for authentication and data synchronization. Offline-first functionality is not currently supported but may be considered for future versions.
